Everything apart from where am I going to stay has been finalized for my trip to Sikkim. One of my friends who have already been there shares his experience and tells me to enjoy a Home Stay while the other advises me to go for a Hotel so that I don’t need to worry about anything. Anyone who can share in some input as in which is a better option?
Himanshu
Dear Himanshu,
Sikkim is the least populous state in India and is a popular tourist destination. I will recommend you to choose a homestay over a hotel. Here are the reasons :
While staying in a homestay, you will enjoy a different experience. For e.g. you will be exposed to local sights, sounds and flavours.
Safety and privacy both are ensured here.
The best part about staying in a homestay is undoubtedly the delicious home-cooked food.
A lot of homestays will allow you to use the kitchen or willingly help you deal with different situations.
Hotels have become prohibitively expensive. Homestays, however, offer a clean and affordable alternative and come with better experiences.
By staying in a homestay, it is assured that you’ll never be away from home.
Thanks,
Damini.
