Rafting options other than Rishikesh…!!!

Ever since I have been into rafting it has always been Rishikesh. Planning to take my love towards the water splashing a step further with rubbing against the waters at some other destination. What are the other options to go for rafting apart from Rishikesh? Also what is the longest stretch allowed to non-professional in India?

    Hi Sooraj,

Other than Rishikesh, there are many rafting options in India, listed a few locations below:

Zanskar (Happens during Summers, be ready for cold waters and sun burns)
    River Indus on Ladakh,
Bhagirathi river (Upper Ganges, only for pro rafters)
Brahmaputra River Rafting (If you are interested in multiday rafting events)
Kali/Sharda River Rafting (On Nepal Border)
Tons in Garhwal (Small stretches of rafting)
    Kolad, Maharashtra
    Barapole in Coorg
Kundalika River near Pune (You raft on this river as the dams above open up in the morning when the flow is good enough for rafting, good though for first timers)

It is recommended that rafting on the Ganges : 27 kms stretch from marine drive to NIM beach, rafting on kundalika river or rafting on zanskar(Ladakh).
